About Marketplace Seller Finance

Why we started

Marketplace Seller Finance began in 2019 after our founders—two former Amazon sellers and an accountant—spent years watching independent sellers struggle with the same problem: cash flow. Payouts arrive on a marketplace's schedule, not yours. Fees and refunds hit without warning. Tax obligations pile up while money is still tied up in inventory. The tools that existed were either built for large brands or buried inside accounting software that didn't understand marketplace economics.

We built the service we wished we'd had: a finance platform that speaks the language of marketplace sellers.

What we do

We help marketplace sellers manage the financial side of their business—specifically fees, payouts, and taxes. Our platform connects to your seller accounts, pulls in transaction data, and turns it into clear, actionable information. You can see what you're actually earning per SKU after fees, forecast cash flow based on payout schedules, and set aside the right amount for taxes before the bill comes due.

We don't lend money or process payments. We're not a marketplace. We're a finance layer that sits on top of the marketplaces you already sell on.

Who we serve

Our customers are independent sellers on Amazon, Walmart, eBay, Etsy, and other platforms—typically doing between $10,000 and $500,000 in monthly sales. They're serious about growing but don't have a finance team. They need to know where their money is, what's coming next, and what they owe.

Our values

Clarity over complexity. Finance doesn't have to be confusing. We explain every number and every fee.

Accuracy first. Marketplace fees change constantly. We update our fee schedules weekly and flag discrepancies so you can dispute them.

No surprises. Tax estimates and cash-flow forecasts are conservative by design. We'd rather you be pleasantly surprised than caught short.

Seller independence. We don't sell your data or take a cut of your sales. Our only revenue is your subscription.

Our team

Our team of 14 includes former marketplace sellers, CPAs, and software engineers. Between us, we've managed over $50 million in marketplace sales and prepared thousands of seller tax returns. We're based in Austin, Texas, and we all work remotely.

How we're different

Most accounting tools treat marketplace sales like any other revenue. We don't. We model the specific mechanics of each marketplace—referral fees, FBA fees, storage fees, refunds, reimbursements, and payout timing. That means our reports match what you actually see in your seller central account.

We also don't pretend taxes are simple. Our tax module handles sales tax nexus, income tax estimates, and 1099-K reconciliation, with clear guidance on when to consult a professional.

Our commitment

We're not here to sell you on get-rich-quick schemes or shortcuts. We're here to give you the financial visibility you need to run a sustainable marketplace business. If that sounds like what you've been missing, we'd love to show you how it works.
